Introduction
Through the website a certain amount of personal data is collected. Some of it is automatically collected through Cookies, and the rest is collected in case you decide to share your personal data with us. The collection and processing of your personal data by the ACEin Team is always in line with our legal obligations, in compliance with the GDPR 2016/679, and in accordance with our own values and principles.In this Notice you will find a detailed presentation of the reasons and the purposes for which we collect and process personal data, the ways we process it, as well as for how long we retain your data and how we protect it. You will also be informed about who has access to your data, what rights you have on your data and how you may exercise them. We encourage you to read our Privacy Notice thoroughly, as it reflects the Privacy and Data Protection Policy we follow. Please note that this Notice governs only the collection and processing of the personal data you share with us through the website and does not extend to personal data that we collect and process via the ACEin Application Procedure, and/or throughout other activities of ACEin.

– Any personal data you choose to share with us through the message you submit in the Contact Form

• Throughout this Privacy Notice “you”, “your” etc. refer to Visitors of the website, namely anyone who visits/browses the website and choses to share personal data with us to contact us via the Contact Form or subscribe to our Newsletter. - Update or amending the current Privacy Notice
Due to developments in business and/or technology we may need to change or amend the current Privacy Notice. While we will provide you with a notice in case we make any substantial change, we strongly encourage you to visit this Tab regularly in order to remain informed and updated about any change or alternation.This privacy Notice was lastly updated in March 2021.
- Persons under 18 years of age
Although there is nothing in the Site that may negatively affect children or young people, the ACEin website is primarily intended for people who are over eighteen (18) years of age. (see also the ACEin Site Terms of Use) Whereas we cannot prevent you from browsing the Site even if you are underaged, we would like to encourage you not to share your personal data with us if you are under 18 years of age. If at any point we realize that we have in anyway collected data of a person under 18 years of age, it will be instantly and permanently deleted in a secure way.

This Privacy Notice governs the data collected and processed by the ACEin Team.
It covers the data visitors of the website https://acein.aueb.gr/ may choose to disclose via the Contact Form or subscribing to the Newsletter.
According to law and the General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Controller is ACEin, the Technology and Innovation Transfer Unit of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). Our office is located in Troias 2, 11362, Athens, Greece. - What type of personal data is collected, when, how and why:
You may choose to share your personal data with us in two instances:
a) Through the Contact Form
b) Through the Newsletter Subscription Form
More specifically:a) Contact Form
If you decide to use the Contact Form, we will collect your e-mail address to respond to your message. In case you also share with us your name, we shall collect and process it to make our communication a bit more personal. Similarly, if you choose in your message to include and share with us any other piece of personal data, relevant to the reason/purpose for which you contact us, we shall collect and process it in accordance with the purpose for which you shared it with us, in terms of responding to your message. However, you e-mail is the only required and necessary piece of personal data.b) Newsletter Subscription Form
If you decide to subscribe to our Newsletter, we will collect e-mail address you will choose to disclose in the Newsletter Subscription Form order to be able to send you our newsletter. We may also use your e-mail to identify you in case you need support regarding your subscription. No other piece of personal data is required.The legal basis for collecting and processing your data is your consent. We shall not process or otherwise use your data for any other purpose than those clearly and specifically explained to you on the moment of collection, and the purposes clearly and specifically stated in this Notice.
- Who has access to your personal data and why
We follow a purpose-specific data-access plan, aiming to reduce the diffusion of personal data, limiting access to your personal data only to those necessary. Your personal data will be only accessible to the member of the ACEin Team responsible for communication. In case to respond to your request/message we need input from another member of the Team, only the content of your message will be shared with the designated person, without any other piece of data.We do not share your personal data or otherwise disclose it to third parties, except if we are specifically required to do so by law, court order or a decision rendered by a competent public authority, for the purpose of law enforcement, or in terms of exercising our legitimate rights.
- For how long we retain your data
More specifically:
a) Contact Form
Data collected through the Contact Form is permanently deleted in a secure way soon as our communication is concluded, unless we are permitted to retain it to defend or exercise our legal rights and legitimate interests, for example in case you use the contact form to send threats to the ACEin Team.
b) Newsletter Subscription Form
Data collected through the Newsletter Subscription Form is retained for as long as we have a Newsletter, unless you choose to unsubscribe or exercise any of your rights that would result in not allowing us to retain or process your e-mail address. In that case, soon as you unsubscribe or within ten (10) working days after we have received your relevant request, we shall permanently delete your data in a safe way. - Where is your data stored
For the period retained, the personal data you share with us is safely stored in ~okeanos services of the Greek Research and Technology Network. - How is your data protected
In accordance to the laws regarding privacy and personal data protection, we have taken the reasonably necessary and appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the protection of your personal data and the preservation of your privacy. More specifically, we have implemented measures, policies, processes, and procedures to protect your data against the danger of accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access to your data by unauthorized or malicious third parties. - The rights you have on your personal data
The GDPR provides you with some specific rights concerning your personal data, that we totally respect, and will actively ensure that you can exercise each and/or all of them freely. More specifically you have the right:
(i) to be always informed about the reasons and purposes for the collection and processing of your data, the time limits of processing and storing of your data, the principles of processing, those involved in collection and processing, as well as asking and obtaining any relevant information. If you are not sure you clearly understand something in this Notice, you are encouraged to contact us asking for clarifications prior to submitting or otherwise sharing your personal data with us;
(ii) to access the data we have about you, namely ask us to disclose which data we have about you, how and when we obtained it, and receive a copy;
(iii) to rectify the data we have about you, in case a piece of your personal data has changed while we retain it, so as to ensure that the data we have about you is always accurate, updated and suitable for the reasons/purposes for which you have disclosed it to us;
(iv) to request a copy of your data in a convenient/ appropriate format to be transferred to a third party or used for other purposes (data portability);
(v) to request us to erase your data;
(vi) to object to further processing and ask us to refrain from furtherly processing your data;
(vii) to revoke your consent;
(viii) file an official complaint: if you have any concerns about possible interference with your privacy or misuse of your personal data on our behalf, you may contact us to file a complaint. We hope that we can answer any questions you may have about how we process your personal data and resolve any issue that may occur. Therefore, we would like to invite you to contact us. However, if there are unresolved issues that concern you, you also have the right to complain to the relevant data protection authorities. The rights related to automatic decision making and profiling are not applicable in this case.
