Katerina Pramatari

Katerina Pramatari

Scientific Coordinator

Katerina Pramatari is an Associate Professor of the Department of Management Science and Technology at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and Scientific Coordinator of ACEin, the Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at AUEB and responsible for the ELTRUN-SCORE research group. Since January 2018, she has been a Partner at Uni.Fund, a new fund with the participation of the European Investment Fund (EIF) as part of the Equifund initiative to support new startups and spinoffs. She holds a B.Sc. in Informatics and M.Sc. in Information Systems from AUEB, and a Ph.D. in Information Systems and Supply Chain Management also from AUEB. She has received various academic distinctions and scholarships and has published more than 100 papers in scientific journals, peer-reviewed academic conferences and book chapters. Prior to joining the academia, she has worked as systems analyst and assistant brand manager at Procter&Gamble. In parallel to doing her PhD and growing-up two daughters, she was heavily involved in the setup of a B2B e-business startup that is now an established company. Over the last years she has supported several teams in the setup of their own ventures and has been among the initiators and supporters of various activities fostering youth entrepreneurship.

Deputy Scientific Coordinator

Helen Salavou is currently an Associate Professor of Business Administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business and Director of the Athens MBA. Her main research interests involve entrepreneurship (traditional and social), innovation and strategy of small firms. She is the founding member of the research unit of social entrepreneurship and the scientific director of the education program titled “Social and Green Entrepreneurship” at the University. She has published her work in international journals and participated in several national and international research projects since 1997. Parallel to her academic career she has contributed as consultant and mentor in numerous entrepreneurial initiatives.

Managing Director

Dr. Angeliki Karagiannaki is a part-time Lecturer for the “Design thinking for Innovation” and “Electronic Commerce and Internet Applications” modules at the Department of Management Science and Technology of Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and a part-time Lecturer for the “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” module at the Department of Informatics of AUEB. She is also a founding member and the managing director of Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (www.acein.aueb.gr), the incubation center of AUEB. She holds a PhD from AUEB with a thesis entitled “RFID-enabled Supply Chain Process Redesign using Simulation” and a Masters in Management Science and Operational Research from Warwick Business School. Her research interests lie in innovation and entrepreneurship, ICT entrepreneurship, research commercialisation and innovation for supply chain management. In the last years she has had active participation in several national and European research projects. Angeliki has published articles in academic Journals, such as Journal of the Operational Research Society, Computers in Industry, Industrial Management and Data Systems (IMDS), as well as in conferences, including the Mediterranean Conference on Information Systems (MCIS), the International Annual EurOMA Conference, the Summer Computer Simulation Conference (SCSC), the European Conference on Modelling and Simulation (ECMS), the European Conference in Operational Research (EURO). Angeliki is also a member of the Advisory Committee for Research and Innovation in Attica Region, that is the advisory body that provides strategic advice and recommendations to the Regional Governor of Attica. She has published a book in Greek titled “Quantitative & Qualitative Business Process Modeling”.

Project Manager

Marianna Galani (MSc) is the Project Manager of the Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ACEin), the Incubation Center of Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). She holds a degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, a post- diploma in Services Management from the Athens University of Economics and Business. She has worked for two consecutive years at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of the Athens University of Economics and Business as a Communications and Event Management Officer and she has also attended with scholarship a one-year program organized by AUEB on Social Entrepreneurship.

Project Manager

Erifili-Christina Hatzopoulou is a graduate of the Department of Mineral Resources Engineering of the Technical University of Crete, with postgraduate studies in Business Administration (MBA) from the same Polytechnic, and a Ph.D. in Strategy and International Business from the Athens University of Economics and Business. For the last eleven years she has been working as a member of the Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation – ACEin of AUEB dealing with issues of awareness, training, and support of entrepreneurship, while she has many years of work experience as a technology transfer consultant and as a member of the strategy and human resources departments of multinational companies. Parallel to her involvement in activities supporting entrepreneurship, Erifili-Christina is also a post-doctoral researcher in the Management, Strategy and Entrepreneurship laboratory of the Department of Management Science and Technology of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). Her work has been published in prestigious peer-reviewed international scientific journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics, Long Range Planning, and the International Business Review, and presented at international conferences. She has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as entrepreneurship and innovation, business administration, international business, strategy, organizational behavior and human resources management.

Vasiliki Chronaki (MSc, PhD Candidate) works as a Communications Officer for the Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ACEin) which is facilitated in the Athens University of Economics and Business. She holds a Master degree in Management Science and Technology (MSc) from the Athens University of Economics and Business, and a degree in Financial Management and Engineering from the University of the Aegean. She has worked as a Project Manager Intern for Intermetal S.A., while prior to her master studies she worked as a Communications Manager for Orama Group.

Startup Teams Growth Specialist

Andreas works as a Startup Teams Growth Specialist at the Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He graduated as an Electrical and Computer Engineer from the National Technical University of Athens. In search of his career and throughout his studies he worked in several companies and different fields like construction, fashion as well as education while he also volunteered in fundraising and event organization positions. A couple of years later he realized his flair for an entrepreneurial career. In 2015 he became the Co-Founder of a start-up (Agritech Industry) while 5 years later the second one (Fashion Industry) followed. Since 2017, while working on his own businesses, he started working as a technology and strategy consultant in innovation and technology organizations as well as an adult educator. Finally, he managed to earn a spot on this year's 2019 Forbes 30 Under 30 List!

Financial Officer

Angelos holds the role of the financial officer at the Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He studied Accounting and Finance at Athens University of Economics and Business. Alongside his studies at AUEB he started working at his family's accounting firm. Wanting to explore other career possibilities and paths he studied and acquired a Master's degree in Energy Studies at the University of Piraeus in 2016. By adding new services, such as business consulting, financial project management and payroll services he grew his family business to an organization that provides professional accounting and business advisory services. Finally, since 2021 he is an accredited mediator by the Greek Ministry of Justice.

Mara Doukidi is a creative and business consultant specializing in branding, strategic business development & marketing. She holds a BA(Hons) Product Design degree from Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London) and a MSc in Marketing from Alba Graduate Business School (The American College of Greece). Her work experience expands in the retail & consumer goods field, with specialization in the global food & cosmetics market. The last 6 years she has owned a consulting & design studio with a variety of clients. She has also provided business & branding services for the development of start up & spin off companies.

Timoleon Farmakis is a Ph.D. candidate and works as a researcher for the Athens Center of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ACEin) which is facilitated in the Athens University of Economics and Business. He holds an Integrated Master degree in Civil Engineering from University of Patras and a M.Sc. degree “Design of Resilient, Sustainable and Intelligent Infrastructures”, with a major in Construction Management and Intelligent Transportation Systems. He was Erasmus student at University of Rome III, he has worked as an intern at Politecnico di Milano and is now taking part in various EU funded projects.

Emmanouil Sofikitis

Training Manager

Emmanouil Sofikitis is a PhD candidate in International Business and Entrepreneurship in the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) (Department of Management Science and Technology, DMST). He is a graduate of the Department of Business Administration of the AUEB and also holds an MBA from the same University. Emmanouil is responsible for the design and teaching of supporting educational courses in the field of Entrepreneurship in ACEin AUEB while he also has several years in the coaching and supporting of entrepreneurial teams. He has been involved in EU funded programs (such as Erasmus+) focusing on the education of entrepreneurship and innovation. He is also a researcher in the Laboratory of Management, Strategy and Entrepreneurship of the DMST and has published his work in peer-reviewed scientific journals and international conferences.

Panourgias Papaioannou studied English language and American studies in the University of Athens and the Free University of Berlin. He worked for the European Parliament before completing his Erasmus Mundus in Research and Innovation in Higher Education (MARIHE) at the Danube University Krems and the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.Before joining ACEin he completed an internship for the European University Association (EUA), he then worked for the European Association of Institutional Research (EAIR).His work focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship and digitalisation of Higher Education Institution.

Asterios Poulios is currently studying at the Athens University of Economics & Business, in the department of Business Administration. At the same time, he is a member in the Athens Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (ACEin), as an Event Manager. His objective is to develop as many skills and knowledge as possible, as well as to deal with business-related issues. The path of entrepreneurship and innovation of this began with him participation in the 3rd Inter-Departmental Entrepreneurial Assignment (IDEA), in which him team came in the 3rd place, and since then he is trying to be as close as possible to innovative environments. Also, he is a graduate of Ant1 Media Lab from the department of public relations and communication, as well as a graduate from IEK Delta of the Chef department. He has many years of experience in both professional areas.

Research Fellow – Legal Consultant

Vasiliki graduated from the Faculty of Law of the National Kapodestrian University of Athens in 2012. She continued her studies in Finland, at the University of Turku, in the two-years’ Law and Information Society (LIS) Program. She obtained her Master on International, European and Comparative Law, majoring Information Society and Internet Law, writing her thesis on the Council of Europe Convention on Cybercrime. She is currently at the last stage of her Doctoral studies in the University of Turku Faculty of Law, researching Internet Governance. Her research so far is primarily focused on issues related to Internet Governance, privacy, data protection and freedom of expression, as well as the intersection of Internet Governance and fundamental rights, and the normative aspects of technology. Her current focus, beyond Internet Governance, is centred around the democratization of Internet and Technology Governance, technological normativity, legal and ethical requirements in engineering and technology development etc. She is also a Data Protection Officer and a passionate Privacy and Ethics in Research and Technology researcher Since 2018, Vasiliki is a Research Fellow at the ELTRUN Lab of the AUEB, offering legal counselling and conducting legal research on issues related to law and technology, law and innovation, privacy, and Internet law.

Despoina Adamopoulou is currently studying in the department of Marketing & Communication at the Athens University of Economics & Business. The path of entrepreneurship began with her participation in the 1st Inter-Departmental Entrepreneurial Assignment (IDEA), in which her team came in the 1st place, and since then she is trying to be as close as possible to innovative environments.

Since 2017, while working on his own businesses, he started working as a technology and strategy consultant in innovation and technology organizations as well as an adult educator. Finally, he managed to earn a spot on this year's 2019 Forbes 30 Under 30 List!

Angelos holds the role of the financial officer at the Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He studied Accounting and Finance at Athens University of Economics and Business. Alongside his studies at AUEB he started working at his family's accounting firm. Wanting to explore other career possibilities and paths he studied and acquired a Master's degree in Energy Studies at the University of Piraeus in 2016. By adding new services, such as business consulting, financial project management and payroll services he grew his family business to an organization that provides professional accounting and business advisory services. Finally, since 2021 he is an accredited mediator by the Greek Ministry of Justice.

Mara Doukidi is a creative and business consultant specializing in branding, strategic business development & marketing. She holds a BA(Hons) Product Design degree from Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London) and a MSc in Marketing from Alba Graduate Business School (The American College of Greece). Her work experience expands in the retail & consumer goods field, with specialization in the global food & cosmetics market. The last 6 years she has owned a consulting & design studio with a variety of clients. She has also provided business & branding services for the development of start up & spin off companies.

Timoleon Farmakis is a Ph.D. candidate and works as a researcher for the Athens Center of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ACEin) which is facilitated in the Athens University of Economics and Business. He holds an Integrated Master degree in Civil Engineering from University of Patras and a M.Sc. degree “Design of Resilient, Sustainable and Intelligent Infrastructures”, with a major in Construction Management and Intelligent Transportation Systems. He was Erasmus student at University of Rome III, he has worked as an intern at Politecnico di Milano and is now taking part in various EU funded projects.

Emmanouil Sofikitis

Training Manager

Emmanouil Sofikitis is a PhD candidate in International Business and Entrepreneurship in the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) (Department of Management Science and Technology, DMST). He is a graduate of the Department of Business Administration of the AUEB and also holds an MBA from the same University. Emmanouil is responsible for the design and teaching of supporting educational courses in the field of Entrepreneurship in ACEin AUEB while he also has several years in the coaching and supporting of entrepreneurial teams. He has been involved in EU funded programs (such as Erasmus+) focusing on the education of entrepreneurship and innovation. He is also a researcher in the Laboratory of Management, Strategy and Entrepreneurship of the DMST and has published his work in peer-reviewed scientific journals and international conferences.

Panourgias Papaioannou studied English language and American studies in the University of Athens and the Free University of Berlin. He worked for the European Parliament before completing his Erasmus Mundus in Research and Innovation in Higher Education (MARIHE) at the Danube University Krems and the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.Before joining ACEin he completed an internship for the European University Association (EUA), he then worked for the European Association of Institutional Research (EAIR).His work focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship and digitalisation of Higher Education Institution.

Asterios Poulios is currently studying at the Athens University of Economics & Business, in the department of Business Administration. At the same time, he is a member in the Athens Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (ACEin), as an Event Manager. His objective is to develop as many skills and knowledge as possible, as well as to deal with business-related issues. The path of entrepreneurship and innovation of this began with him participation in the 3rd Inter-Departmental Entrepreneurial Assignment (IDEA), in which him team came in the 3rd place, and since then he is trying to be as close as possible to innovative environments. Also, he is a graduate of Ant1 Media Lab from the department of public relations and communication, as well as a graduate from IEK Delta of the Chef department. He has many years of experience in both professional areas.

Vasiliki graduated from the Faculty of Law of the National Kapodestrian University of Athens in 2012. She continued her studies in Finland, at the University of Turku, in the two-years’ Law and Information Society (LIS) Program. She obtained her Master on International, European and Comparative Law, majoring Information Society and Internet Law, writing her thesis on the Council of Europe Convention on Cybercrime. She is currently at the last stage of her Doctoral studies in the University of Turku Faculty of Law, researching Internet Governance. Her research so far is primarily focused on issues related to Internet Governance, privacy, data protection and freedom of expression, as well as the intersection of Internet Governance and fundamental rights, and the normative aspects of technology. Her current focus, beyond Internet Governance, is centred around the democratization of Internet and Technology Governance, technological normativity, legal and ethical requirements in engineering and technology development etc. She is also a Data Protection Officer and a passionate Privacy and Ethics in Research and Technology researcher Since 2018, Vasiliki is a Research Fellow at the ELTRUN Lab of the AUEB, offering legal counselling and conducting legal research on issues related to law and technology, law and innovation, privacy, and Internet law.
