COSMOTE HACKATHON: COSMOTE seeks innovative ideas that will make our world a better place

COSMOTE seeks the ideas that will make our world a better place for the second year in a row, by organizing the marathon competition of innovation and technology COSMOTE HACKATHON. The participation applications are submitted exclusively at www.cosmotehackathon.gr until the 22nd of April.

With the central message being «Innovating for a better world», COSMOTE HACKATHON addresses individuals specialized in programming, design, communications and entrepreneurship. The interested parties can participate individually or in groups of 2 to 5. By exploiting all the available new technologies individuals are required to present a completed, user friendly, technological solution-prototype that can improve the everyday life in the new digital era.

«After the great success of last year’s COSMOTE HACKATHON that highlighted great ideas and technological solution, the marathon innovation competition of COSMOTE is once again here in order to give the opportunity to young individuals to exploit their talent and their passion for innovation. We want to hear their thoughts for the future and contribute in order for the best ones to become a reality. Because in COSMOTE we believe that through technology we can build a world, better for everyone», said Chief Operations Officer of OTE Group, Mr. Giorgos Athanassopoulos.

The competition is taking place with the help of the Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ACEin) of the Athens University for Economics and Business. In the framework of the two-day innovation festival, that will be held on the 12th & 13th of May at OTEAcademy, the participants will be called to work for 48 hours in a specially designed place, in order to complete their idea. Specialized mentors from the entrepreneurial and academical community, will be there to support the teams by offering them practical advices and guidance.

A special committee will highlight three winning teams. The 1st team will receive a money prize of €10.000, the 2nd will receive a money prize of €5.000 and the 3rd team will receive a money prize of €2.500. Irrespective of the committee’s choices, free hosting, systematical coaching and advisory services, lasting for 6 months long, will be given from the Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ACEin) of the Athens University for Business and Economics, to two of the three teams.
